Die Familie läßt sich zurückverfolgen bis zu Christopher Struthoff, *1625 in Horstedt, er war dort Kirchenjurator.
Der Namen wird in der aktuellen Form geführt seit Johann Strodthoff, *1831 in Harpstedt, Gymnasiallehrer in Lingen. Dessen Sohn Friedrich Strodthoff wanderte 1889 nach Chile aus und begründete die dortige Linie.

We can trace the roots back to Christopher Struthoff, *1625 in Horstedt, Germany. He was lawyer of the church. The family bear the name in his actual form since Johann Strodthoff, *1831 in Harpstedt, he was a teacher in Lingen. His son Friedrich Strodthoff emigrated to Chile in 1889 and founded that branch.
